Feds beware: New studies demonstrate key AI shortcomings - Nextgov/FCW

AI is becoming widespread, and government agencies are cautiously adopting it using guidelines such as the AI Accountability Framework. However, while generative AI coding is fast, it struggles with security leading to vulnerabilities. Studies have found that generative AI often faces challenges in detecting and correcting these vulnerabilities. The main problem is a lack of contextual understanding, which could be improved by humans overseeing AI-generated code. AI may still have a role in coding, but human oversight is crucial for now.
